I’ll Be Gnome for Christmas
We’ve all heard of Elf on the Shelf, but what about Gnome in the Home? While this may not be a thing, it certainly worked out for this OP. She made a heartfelt, handmade gift for all of her family members. Her father-in-law passed away before the holidays, so she made a gnome for everyone in her family out of his old plaid shirts.
This gift is not only cute, but it’s extremely sentimental and special. Reusing a loved one’s old clothing after they pass away is a very heartfelt way of remembering them. Many people make t-shirt quilts, but we think these Christmas gnomes are extra clever and creative. According to the OP, her father-in-law loved his plaid shirts. Why not remember him by them?
