#34: Tuna
No matter how you slice it (or package it), tuna fish is excellent for your health. Fresh tuna steaks are a wonderful addition to any diet, thanks to their fatty oils and omega 3s. But if you can’t afford to eat these regularly, you don’t need to miss out because canned tuna is also a very healthy diet staple.
Canned tuna also provides omega-3 fatty acids such as DHA, EPA, and other benefits. In addition, it’s packed with protein and is a good source of iron, which is needed to keep your blood cells healthy. Tuna can also give you stronger bones and prevent some cancers and stroke. But, perhaps one of the most surprising benefits is that it can reduce depression! Should we call it the happy fish?
