Bouncing Heat Off the Walls
Tin foil reflects light in the same way that a mirror does. Heat, on the other hand, can be dangerous. If a person has a furnace or a wall heater, but the vents are facing the wall, the wall will receive all of the heat, denying you and your family a majority of the heat to stay alive during the winter.
What you can do is place some tin foil just behind the vents. Doing this will allow the heat to bounce off the foil and toward the room where you and your family congregate. Just make sure you have a radiator that can safely accommodate this.
