Dowel Storage
Dowels are great for hiding screw holes in blocks of wood. However, if you store them improperly, the long cylindrical rods may snap or end up becoming warped. The best thing you can do to keep your dowels intact is to construct a specialized compartment for them.
All you need is a long section of 3- to 4-inch PVC pipe. Cut the section to about 80% of the length of your dowels. Now, remove a section of the pipe lengthwise to allow you to grab the dowels from their centers. Clue a cap onto one end of the pipe and fasten the container onto a wall stud.
