Peel Ginger with a Spoon
Some vegetables, like carrots and potatoes, are easy to peel using a peeler. But when it comes to ginger and its irregular shape, how exactly do you peel the fibrous skin off? Using a knife will just end up turning the ginger into a weird blocky shape with more ginger flesh on the peel.
There’s a simple trick you can use to peel ginger without wasting too much of the spicy goodness. Use the edge of a spoon. The spoon is “sharp” enough to scrape the thin peel off of a ginger root without bruising or slicing into the flesh.
