It Means No Worries
In Sweden, they have this term called “Lagom Mentality” which translates to balance and moderation. In other words, it’s similar to the Hakuna Matata motto – “it means no worries, for the rest of your days. It’s a problem-free philosophy!” According to this Swedish mentality, you should live in moderation, with only the necessities, and not worry constantly about what you don’t have.
But it’s more than clear that this varies with the ideals of people in the U.S., where abundance, success, and life without limits dictate the national mentality. Every country has its own system of values and beliefs, according to which its citizens live. Of course, you can live in the U.S. according to the Lagom mentality, but it’s not a cultural thing here.
