A Hungarian Easter
Our last Easter tradition, and the last national quirk on the list. They have unique Easter traditions in Czechia, that date a while back, so why not in Hungary? According to this Reddit post, in Hungarian culture, on Monday during Easter women and young girls are supposed to stay home and cook special food.
In the meantime, the men and boys have a role to play as well. They go around visiting the houses of their relatives or girlfriends, recite a poem to them, and sprinkle perfume over their hair. The woman replies with a painted egg. The woman who shared this doesn’t seem very happy with the tradition, and we must admit, it doesn’t sound very modern and equal.
