Don’t Go Knocking
From Christmas traditions to Easter traditions. We’ve seen quite a lot of holiday traditions on the list, and we must admit, we had no idea every country celebrates the same holidays so differently. In Czechia, they have a tradition during Easter where men walk around with “pomlázka,” a whip made of branches from a willow tree.
They walk from house to house, knocking on doors. When the woman answers the door, they slap them lightly on the legs. This is done “to make sure they are fertile.” According to the old Pagan tradition, the willow tree branches are supposed to instill the women with freshness and youth.
