Japanese Quirks
We’re not sure this one is much of a quirk, but more of a tradition, like the last examples we’ve shared. This Reddit user shared that in Japan, when a baby turns 100 days old, or 100 days after a baby is born, they celebrate this as a major milestone. They tie a bag to the baby’s back and hold him up, pretending he is walking.
This person has actually never heard of this tradition until 100 days after their daughter was born. They also don’t know what’s the meaning of this tradition. According to them, there are quite a bit of superstitious beliefs in their community, they sometimes wonder if they’re nothing but a prank from the elders! Many cultures around the world have superstitions, though, so we find this entirely believable.
