Taking a Deep Breath
In Sweden, they know how to keep conversations flowing. When you’re having a conversation and you agree with what the other person argues, you usually interrupt to speak your mind and demonstrate your idea to the other person, right? This interrupts them and might be rude, or it might interrupt their train of thought.
In Sweden, they have a social convention that allows them to avoid this kind of situation. There’s no need to interrupt the conversation to signal that you agree, rather they have managed to create another way to express it – you just have to make a loud sucking sound and nod your head to indicate agreement.
