Traditions of Denmark
This Reddit user has revealed unique Danish traditions that go from simulations of ancient practices to strange shapes of cakes. As he explains, the Sankt Hans Aften is an annual summer bonfire, where the entire community gets together to celebrate and watch as a witch puppet is burned. Sounds pretty freaky!
But that’s not all: they have another unique holiday, called the Fastelavn festival, where the children bang a barrel of lights, and the last unique Danish tradition; children receive birthday cakes shaped like people and scream when the cake is cut. This person didn’t even realize these traditions were strange, until his foreign wife pointed it out to him.
