Speaking with Your Eyebrows
Talking with our hands, shaking our heads, and now this. As it turns out, in some places around the world, even eyebrow movements have meanings. You can say a whole lot with your face, without having to say a word. In the Philippines, you can greet people just by raising your eyebrows.
Isn’t it funny how some gestures can mean different things in different places? Raising your eyebrows usually resembles surprise, or indifference, sort of like a shrug. I guess everyone might interpret these gestures in different ways. Anyway, in the Philippines, raising your eyebrows is like saying “hi” to someone, and we’re totally on board with that trend.
