Sometimes bigger really is better, and this is a sentiment we believe with our whole hearts when it comes to Halloween decor. We put together a list of our favorite XXL Halloween decorations that you can make yourself and scare the pants off of your entire neighborhood. Let’s get into it!
Coffin
The possibilities are pretty endless when it comes to a giant coffin, put a (fake) corpse in it, make it shake a little bit to scare trick-or-treaters, or simply use it as an ominous prop with a backdrop of bats. This coffin is made with foam board, duct tape, and paint and while the end result isn’t strong enough for a real human to jump out of, it’s sturdy enough to be used as a prop for just about anything else. Man-Eating Monster Plant
This is for our plant-loving friends that want to turn their garden into something a little creepy for the holiday. To make this massive man-eating plant you’ll need a tree branch, a flower pot, spray foam insulation, an artificial pumpkin, green paint, fake leaves, hot glue, a pumpkin carver, and any creepy props such as rats, skeletons, or bones. At night, we love the eerie silhouette this creates with an outdoor light on it. Get the full instructions here!
Giant Witch
Who doesn’t need a giant witch is the real question here. If you’ve got a front porch in desperate need of spooky season decor, then look no further. This giant witch takes a little bit of time, and a little bit of creativity, but it’s all worth it in the end, especially if you’re going for a spooky Hansel and Gretl situation and say, line your walkway with life-sized candy while this witch is perched on the porch. But hey, we aren’t here to tell you what to do. Get the full instructions here!
Giant Cornstalker Scarecrow
We simply can’t imagine how creepy it would be to look out at night and see this. But we know one thing is for sure, having this giant cornstalker scarecrow in your yard will certainly raise the bar for Halloween seasons to come. On a side note, we do recommend having some extra hands to help with this project! Get the full instructions here.
Giant Spiders
Last but not least, and hear us out on this one, giant spiders. And while these may look like a challenge, they only take about an hour to make and they’re simple enough for even the most beginner crafter. You can make these spiders as small or as massive as you wish and why stop with the outside of your house? Fill the inside up too! Get the full instructions here.
