#30: Teachable Moments
Return of the Jedi is an iconic sci-fi film, but during production, crew members had some reservations about the character design of Admiral Ackbar, finding it somewhat unattractive. However, director Richard Marquand made a significant decision to keep the character’s appearance unchanged.

Marquand believed in using the character to convey an important message to the audience, emphasizing that good people are not always conventionally good-looking and that bad people are not necessarily ugly in appearance. This decision highlighted the importance of inner qualities and values, sending a powerful message to viewers, especially children, about the complexities of character and the idea that true goodness goes beyond superficial appearances.
