#11: Look Out for the Signs
It can be hard to notice the people around us and always look out for signs of help, but when you do happen to notice odd behavior or something looking amiss, it’s important to be vigilant and do something about it. In this remarkable act of vigilance and compassion, flight attendant Shelia Frederick once noticed a distressed young girl on a flight, accompanied by an older man who raised her suspicions.
Frederick discreetly urged the girl to visit the restroom, where she had left a note asking if everything was alright. In response, the girl wrote a desperate plea, “I need help.” Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Frederick immediately informed the authorities. Upon landing, the police were waiting to intervene, and the young girl was rescued from a potential human trafficker, thanks to the quick thinking and courage of Shelia Frederick.
