Save Your Laces
It’s always a hassle having to buy new shoelaces. Getting the exact right color, length and fabric isn’t as easy as it might sound. However, if the ends of your laces become frayed and split, you can no longer thread them through your shoe’s eyeholes, so you need to toss them. Right? Not necessarily.

All you need to do is wrap a small piece of plastic around the end of your frayed shoelace. Then, very carefully hold a flame underneath the plastic so that it begins to melt and conform to the shoelace. Be cautious not to catch your laces on fire, though! Nevertheless, the plastic will mold itself to your shoelace, and your laces will be as good as new.
