Apparently, women’s stockings are a must-have accessory for cars because here’s another use for them. When you aren’t busy covering your windshield wipers with stockings, you can also use them as a temporary fix to a broken fan belt. It won’t last a long time, but it will at least get you to safety!

If your fan belt stops while you’re driving, pull over immediately and turn off your car. If you can, remove the broken belt, then tie the stockings around the engine pulleys, pulling the stockings as taught as you can. It’s an imperfect fix but a pretty darn good patch for a short drive.
