#11: It’s All Too Much
First-hand accounts from people have revealed that sensory issues are a pretty common symptom of ADHD. Although researchers don’t know the exact connection, it’s pretty common for people with ADHD to experience sensory overload and sensory sensitivity. It’s different for everyone, and this person generously shared their sensory issues.
This person is often overwhelmed by lights, colors, sounds, and textures. Their reaction depends on their surroundings. If something is too much, their brain overloads and cannot process a situation in an organized manner. They are particularly sensitive to the feel of clothing. If something bothers them, like the seam of a sock, it’s so distracting that they can’t focus on anything else.
