Tile layouts can be an easy way to spice up any space. If you don’t do anything too outlandish, you can get a classy effect going. The designer of this space had the right idea. Black and white, like a chessboard, is not a bad look to go for. There’s a problem in practice here, though.

Looking at these steps from an angle, they’re quite easy to see, especially when you’re at the bottom of them. But when you’re going down them, it’s clear what the problem is. They blend in way too well, to a point where you can’t see where the stairs end and the floor begins. I’m sure the number of accidents is double digit.
