#21: Gay Doesn’t Just Mean Happy
There’s no doubt that times are changing, especially on the social side of things. These conversations are important even if they are uncomfortable so that everyone can live their best life in accordance with the American Dream without stepping on people’s figurative feet.
We’re curious what the percentages would look like if people were more honest and better protections were in place for every kind of person, but this map is still incredibly interesting. You might think the percentages are so low, but an average of 4 percent across the country means that almost 14 million people are confident enough to self-identify as LGBT.
